One of the greatest pleasures of living in Durban is spending a lazy Sunday afternoon on a picnic blanket at the Botanic Gardens listening to some wonderfully talented South African muso belt out a few tunes whilst enjoying the balmy breeze and view of the big blue African sky.

On Sunday 7 November Goldfish is the featured music-maker in the Old Mutual Music at the Lake concert series. You all know their music whether you realise it or not and as one of SA’s most successful exports, performances in South Africa are not weekly so don’t miss out on this performance. The Botanic Gardens is the perfect setting for their laid-back house music and it is going to be a truly fantastic afternoon.

There are always thousands of people (many you know) but it doesn’t feel particularly crowded with the sky above you and the lake to one side. Everyone is there to have a good time and the atmosphere is always vibey. The Botanic Gardens is still exceptionally well maintained so do yourself a favour and go a little early to wonder around soaking up the sights and sounds of magnificent gardens and plenty of birdlife.

Tickets are R80 through www.ticketbreak.co.za or R100 at the door. Goldfish will be on at 2:30pm and gates open at 12:30. More info at www.durbanbotanicgardens.org.za.
