I received a Rosabella hairpiece and brooch as a birthday gift a few weeks ago and I have had so many comments on it! Someone challenged me to find out more about Rosabella and write about it on my blog so that’s exactly what I’ve done. (It didn’t take much sleuthing, I do have to admit as Rosabella had a beautiful stall at the i heart market on Saturday.)

Miranda Barnard’s hand made accessories are created with the greatest attention to detail and they are exquisitely finished. Using felt, ribbons, feathers, beads and flowers, Rosabella has a selection of versatile items to brighten up your wadrobe and home.

Miranda began by making all the items herself but soon decided to outsource some of the work to women living in Kwampande near Sweet Waters and she is very proud of how this employment has made a contribution to the women’s lives. Many of the items are created out of wool which has been knitted into fabric by the ladies and then treated to turn it into a very srong, durable felt which is soft and fluffy.

Rosabella items are created to be versatile and worn in different ways. Miranda is happy to show you haw an item you originally thought of a as a clip for your hair can be used as a brooch with the addition of a magnet; clipped to a necklace as a pendant; attached to a scarf or if bought as a pair, embellishments for shoes.

Miranda Barnard can be contacted on 084 4222441. Rosabella will be available at the Litchi Market in Ballito on Saturday 18 December.
