The Nando’s Durban Comedy Festival starts this evening at the ICC. There are only three shows: tonight, tomorrow and Saturday all at 8pm so don’t miss out on booking tickets (between R130 and R180) as this is going to be very popular – who could resist a comedy festival sponsored by Nandos?
The comedians performing are Mark Eddie, Nik Rabinovitz, Dave Thornton, Michael Loftus, Dan Cummins and Steve Byrne. I have to confess that I don’t know much about comedy, but I am pleased to see that it seems to be thriving in South Africa in 2011. Durban itself has a regular comedy scene and it’s on my list of things to find out more about in the second half of the year, so watch this space. As for this event, I think that dedicating an evening to laughter is very good for the health!
