It is always wonderful to hear about Durbanites being recognised so I was delighted to receive news that Street Scene Tours has won a prestigious award.
Street Scene Tours started in 2010 with a mission to get Durbanites out of their comfort zones and visiting different parts of the city which they would not usually see. Tours to townships and through the city centre and the markets in Victoria Street and Warwick Triangle soon became very popular. Street Scene now have a list of tours from bachelor party tours to cycling tours and night tours.
“We started out with our focus on locals but soon realized that when you create a set of tours that residents of the city love, you are guaranteed to have tours that visitors to the city will find riveting and unique. There is nothing conventional about Street Scene Tours, and that’s just the way we like it” says tour director Richard Powell.
We all know about Trip Advisor – the website where travellers tell it like it is, good, bad or ugly, with no holds barred. To receive consistently good reviews on Trip Advisor is genuinely a feat and is recognised by a Certificate of Excellence, which has been awarded to Street Scene Tours.
“Street Scene Tours is pleased to receive a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence,” said Jonas Barausse, partner and marketing manager at Street Scene Tours. “We strive to offer our customers a memorable experience, and this accolade is evidence that our hard work is translating into unique and memorable experiences for our guests. We are extremely proud of our city and love showing her off. The accolade, which honours hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor, and is extended to qualifying businesses worldwide. Approximately 10 percent of establishments listed on TripAdvisor receive this prestigious award.”
I really think that this is an achievement to be celebrated and I will be following Trip Advisor’s lead by declaring Street Scene Tours as the number one thing to do in Durban!
